Herring Gull
Why do seagulls fly over the sea?
If they flew over the bays, they’d be bagels.
Common raven – Corvus Corax
Apparently they are the world’s largest songbird. Can anyone confirm this??
Anyway, going back to my roots, drawing/paint wildlife. Ironically I didn’t have time to paint when working at RSPB. I literally painted one chicken last summer.
Common ravens can be found almost anywhere. Lowlands and up in the mountains. In the Balkans, I saw raven nests on telephone poles (as well as absolutely loads of huge, scrappy stork nests perched precariously on street lights and road signs).
Ravens eat almost anything, and like all corvids (crows, magpies, jays), they are very clever.
I’ve room for some commissions this summer. So if you want a drawing or painting of your cat, dog, budgie – get in touch!
The original source photo that inspired this is by Yeray Seminaro.
When I was painting shoes in Melbourne, loads of people helped me out with poses. These belong to one of my housemates at Albert Park. The beautiful wooden mansion has since been torn down
Green shoes acrylic on A6 canvas board
Not sure if this one was sold in Melbourne or lost.
